Fishing is arguably the most relaxing sport ever invented. Of course, nothing beats the real (or should that be 'reel' thing), but BassAssassin 2 lets you go angling whenever and wherever you like.
BassAssassin 2 is an in-depth fishing game for BlackBerry with two different game modes. You can choose to go Seasonal Fishing, with and open lake or river where you can sit and leisurely cast; or take the Pro Challenge, where you must compete against computer opponents in a series of tournaments.
The controls in BassAssasin 2 are pretty straightforward, although it will take you a while to master the art of reeling in a whopper. Not only must you control the location of the boat, the distance you cast, and the speed in which you reel in, but you must also learn which equipment is best for each type of fish. Rods, lines, reels, nets, etc. all affect your ability to catch fish, and these items are upgradeable by amassing points and visiting the pro shop.
The graphics in BassAssasin 2 are smart enough, although I thought the addition of animated cut scenes, close-ups of the fish you've caught, or even a special screen for when you've got a fish on the line would've made the experience a little more dynamic.
BassAssassin 2 does do a very good job of making fishing enjoyable as a mobile game, but it might still be a little mundane for those of you who prefer things to be more fast and furious.
